TJP + Start Anew
On September 27, 2025, The Joseph Project proudly supported the Start Anew Clinic in Detroit. Hosted by the Jones Day law firm at Wayne State University, the event brought together attorneys, community organizations, and volunteers to provide free legal services and support to human trafficking survivors and other vulnerable populations.
“TJP was proud to join Jones Day at the Start Anew Clinic in our home state of Michigan,” said Nate Knapper, TJP’s Founder and CEO. “We exist to serve human trafficking survivors, and the Start Anew Project is exactly the kind of proactive effort that helps close the Justice Gap for them. We look forward to future collaborations with Jones Day as we continue working to ensure that every survivor has the opportunity to experience justice, freedom, and restoration.”
TJP and Jones Day have a developing history of partnership. In recent years, Jones Day attorneys have won key pro bono victories for trafficked individuals referred by TJP, including TJP’s very first survivor-client, D’Lynn. The Start Anew Project further reinforces both organizations’ shared commitment to stand alongside survivors in their fight for freedom and security.
