TJP + Atlas Free
The Joseph Project (TJP) is pleased to announce its membership in the Atlas Free Network, a global community of more than 170 frontline organizations operating across 67 countries and encompassing more than 500 programs serving the anti-trafficking movement.
Atlas Free identifies, connects, and resources organizations working across survivor care, perpetrator accountability, prevention, and advocacy. Its network creates opportunities for collaboration, shared learning, and strategic funding designed to strengthen effective anti-trafficking efforts around the world.
For TJP, membership provides an important opportunity to integrate its specialized legal services into a broader continuum of survivor support.
“Human trafficking creates problems that no single organization - and no single profession - can solve alone. Our role is to address one critical piece of that puzzle: the legal barriers that can follow survivors long after exploitation ends. Atlas Free connects that work with a broad network of organizations addressing the many other needs survivors face.”
TJP brings to the network its Legal First Responders model, which mobilizes attorneys across the U.S. to provide pro bono representation to trafficking survivors confronting criminal records, outstanding warrants, family law matters, identity issues, debt, professional licensing barriers, and other legal challenges.
The value of the partnership is already becoming tangible. TJP’s membership has opened new avenues of cooperation that have connected trafficking survivors with real, on-the-ground resources beyond the legal services TJP provides.
“The Joseph Project fills a crucial gap in the continuum of care for trafficking survivors by addressing the legal barriers that can continue to impact their lives long after exploitation has ended. Our partnership will ensure that survivors have access to the legal support they need to fully rebuild their lives.”
As TJP continues expanding its national reach, the Atlas Free Network provides both a platform for TJP to contribute its legal expertise to the broader movement and a community of partners whose capabilities complement its own.
TJP looks forward to contributing to the Atlas Free Network and building new partnerships that help close the gap in services for human trafficking survivors.
